Fun story about this shirt: I own this shirt, and I used to joke with my friends that if anyone were to ever recognize it as a Battlestar shirt, I would make out with them on the spot. It was never a serious claim, just a way of illustrating the point that I am very attracted to geeks. But then, one day, a guy in one of my classes said he liked my BSG shirt. I hooked up with him that night.

Party Down
I just started watching this show and it is pretty great.
And, to make things even better, it is absolutely filled with Veronica Mars alums. Not the presence of Dick Casablancas* and Vinnie Van Lowe** in the photo above. And Rob Thomas is one of the creators.

**Ken MarinoI can’t believe this show isn’t eating up all the comedy awards. If Jane Lynch doesn’t win that Golden Globe (admittedly for another show, but still) there will be blood.
I can believe it, because it’s on Starz and television awards have a history of rewarding the same handful of shows over and over again, regardless of what is actually good. But it’s still a shame, because Party Down is wonderful. I can’t decide whether I like Jane Lynch better in Glee or in Party Down, but either way she deserves all the awards she gets.

Of all the characters on Battlestar Galactica with unfortunate fates (and there are many), Boomer’s always makes me the saddest.
I watched Battlestar Galactica: The Plan last night. I enjoyed it quite a bit - it was like being reunited with friends I hadn’t seen in a while and it reminded me why I liked the show so much in the first place. There wasn’t much that was really new, but it went over a lot of events from the series from the cylons’ perspective, which I loved because the cylons are one of my favorite parts of the show. There were some good bits with Anders leading the resistance on Caprica, Leoben starting to become obsessed with Starbuck, Boomer losing it (poor, poor Boomer), a Simon marrying a human, and Six being awesome, as usual. Plus lots and lots of Cavil being a magnificent bastard. Also, there was also a retread of one of my favorite lines of the series: “No more Mr. Nice Gaius”!
