“After that it got pretty late, and we both had to go, but it was great seeing Annie again. I… I realized what a terrific person she was, and… and how much fun it was just knowing her; and I…  I thought of that old joke, y’know, this guy goes to a psychiatrist and says, “Doc, my brother’s crazy! He thinks he’s a chicken.” And, the doctor says, “Well, why don’t you turn him in?” The guy says, “I would, but I need the eggs.” Well, I guess that’s pretty much now how I feel about relationships; y’know, they’re totally irrational, and crazy, and absurd, and… but, I guess we keep goin’ through it because most of us… need the eggs.”

71. Annie Hall (Woody Allen, 1977)
“Well la-di-da.”
Woody Allen Watch #6
Annie Hall is one of my favorite movies and a major part of why I decided to work my way through all of Woody Allen’s output. I don’t think there’s anything I can say about it that hasn’t already been said before - it’s funny and playful and, most of all, true. It is honest about relationships in a way that few other films are, capturing the ups and downs of one relationship in a way that feels completely real. It’s a wonderful movie.

66. The Cutting Edge (Paul Michael Glaser, 1992)
I was drunk and mad that there was no gymnastics or badminton on, so I made my boyfriend watch The Cutting Edge with me so I could see at least one of my favorite Olympic sports. He is a good boyfriend.
ALSO: I want there to be a Cutting Edge-esque movie for doubles tennis or badminton.
